Cannonball, Part 2

Here I'm playing around with another design for a party invite for Jonathan, I'm only just now getting around to trying my bear out with a spinner because I'd seen a really cool fold out design about a month ago for the first time on Lauren's blog, I've been wanting to try it and thought it would be perfect for this. It allows you to add some "layers" to the sea and a place for him to dip behind...

and then your fold out has all the deets about the party! (so you don't have to look at all the writing when you're playing with your spinner)
I love how folded out it all still looks like one continuous scene...

I put the ball on a dimensional in my Hoppy puddle like I did on my previous cannonball post, and then used a word window punch floating in another little puddle for an innertube(I just drew in a little curved line to look like it has a hole in the middle).

If the water looks shimmery to you, it is! I used a bottle of Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist (contains Twinkling H2O) I got, it's the first time I've tried it out*! SO shimmery and I chose to start out trying just this color ("Guatemalan Green", which actually looks very turquoise as you can see here) since it would work for both water and sky. I like how it's looks, but I warn you it's pretty messy(in a squirt bottle, not aerosol so it sprays everywhere!) and to get a nice opaque color the paper gets really saturated, so make sure you use a heavy weight cardstock to prevent a lot of warping* (I'm out of my Papertrey White, this is SU! and it's a wee curvy now even after drying) I masked off a horizon line before spraying(and made a little matching piece to put behind my track) and then sponged on some Cool Caribbean ink for clouds. I went over the water by stamping my little waves from the set in Cool Caribbean.

I saw some invitations at the store recently that had the headings for party details in the center instead of left justified and I really liked the look of it, so I did that here. See how to mount these stamps on your block to get them straight, evenly spaced, and stamped in a flash here!

I have some more ideas for how to make the front layer even more wavy, but I'll save that for another card, time to go get sealy! ;)

Reminder: Tomorrow is the last day to enter my contest!!

*If you have any tips for me about using this stuff, I'd love to read your words of wisdom! :)
