Tall, Cool One

Mask your glass and throw in a paper drink umbrella* from the same set, "You are My Sunshine"and you are livin' easy! (this set is free with the purchase of three other sets until the 20th, still time to earn it!) I covered the whole thing with Clear Copic Spica and Sakura glaze for sparkle and shimmer, and a sugary rim, and made a shadow with my Pale Aqua Copic. Instead of piecing the umbrella, I decided to paint the stripes to match my paper so it could follow the umbrella's curve rather than looking like a flat pattern.

The edges of my focal point mat were sponged and stamped with my boo-boo speckle stamp(Itty bitty backgrounds) to match the weathered DP (Magnolia, the flip flops are pieced with a scrap leftover from cutting my mat(I filled in the straps with Cadmium Red Copic, and popped them the flops up on a dimensional). Don't you just love flip flops that have some fun pattern under your feet, even if only the edge peeps out for others to see, you know it's there! The "crazy double stitch"is from my Kelly Panaccci trim set again, I think this one stamp was worth the 12.95 price tag for the set, getting me out of sewing!! ( I could say that for several others in the set, too!) Putting it at the top and bottom of the card makes me think of a beach towel or canvas shade. The EK Success page pebbles in different sizes are meant to look like beaded moisture from the glass.

I have a very special Father's Day gift I am putting together to match this card, so check back, I am so excited about it! :)

BTW, IT IS SOOOO HOT HERE! (How will I ever survive this summer??) Stay cool, friends!

*Name that movie: "First you forget the bamboo umbrellas in the drinks and then you put snails on her plate!"
