Sneak Peek: Up on the Rooftop...

Here's a peek today using TWO of Gina K's new holiday sets: "Seasonal Sayings", a perfect mix of sentiments in a variety of festive fonts, and "Funky Christmas"!! I loved making this card, the little curly shoes coming out the chimney are too cute and I came up with a simple way for anyone to put this image "up on the rooftop!"

Stamp and color your image. (I also went over it with my Versamarker and clear EP to emboss, give it's a nice shine and will resist my sponged ink so my image doesn't get muddied up) Notice the bottom of the chimney image is angled. Line up a piece of scratch paper diagonally with the bottom of the chimney. Place a punched circle over part of the image to mask a winter moon. Sponge blue ink in the shade of your choice (here Ballet Blue) until you have a wintery night, I like to keep some areas lighter than others to give the appearance of clouds. Remove your masks! Ta da! A snow-covered roof!

If you have the threading water punch, you can take it a step further and give your roof this quaint scalloped trim by punching along the bottom of a piece of scratch paper, then overlapping it about 1/2" over your masked roof line, keeping it parallel and sponging just a bit before removing the mask. (refer to top pic) Doesn't that give a great, fun detail and little shadow to the overhanging eave? Like a little gingerbread chalet!!

The greeting is popped up on dimensionals and the card bottom is Cuttlebugged with the Snowflake folder. I colored a few self adhesive rhinestones with my Red Cadmium Copic and added to the bottom, along with a piece of Pure Luxury Ribbon. Angling my focal point keeps it and fun and extra "funky"!
This sample uses BOTH weights of the new Gina K Designs PURE LUXURY CARDSTOCK, and I tell you, I am lovin' coloring on the 80 lb here and the fabulous finish and way my dry embossing is popping on the heavier 120 base! This cardstock is going to go FAST, I predict, so have those orders ready when the new products go live Thursday night, the 13th!
Enjoy more samples using these sets AND Rupa's from the rest of our team:
