Gina K. Inspiration Hop Day 1: Fill it with Flowers and Country Roads

Good morning! The Cast and Crew for Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous blog hop celebrating the new stamp sets from the May StampTV Release Party! We hope to inspire you with some beautiful card projects as you hop along to each of the designer’s blogs! Today, we are featuring two stamp sets, by
Therea Momber and myself! Please enjoy the gorgeous inspiration samples from the team and then comment on each blog for your chance to win a $20 Gina K Designs gift certificate! To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hop.

The first set we are featuring is Country Roads 2 by Theresa Momber. Theresa has created a second set to her popular Country Roads collection. Whether you are a country lover or an animal lover, you will be making creative and fun projects with this wonderful set. I am so looking forward to creating more scenes with this set (and copying some of hers like the horses one she shared at the party!) The first idea lots of other designers on our team had, to use the new paint brushed image from the Tiny Textures incentive set as a background for the silhouettes, but I'm sharing it anyway!

I recommend starting with the bottom stroke to ground the barn in Black Onyx, stamp the barn, and then work your way up: GKD Peach Bellini,  Sweet Mango, Cherry Red, Cranberry Tart. I added the windmill and greeting last. Cardstock is Pure Luxury Back Onyx and White.

This card I shared at the party and had a few requests for tutorials, but it's really pretty straightforward. Begin with a piece of white cardstock and and sponge a little Sweet Corn to the middle, cover with a small circle and sponge Sweet Mango, remove the mask and continue to sponge Tomato Soup, Cherry Red and Cranberry Tart.  Last, Stamp the windmill in Black Onyx, sponge Black Onyx along the bottom and then ink up just the treetop form the barn image and stamp a few times along the top of the black sponged area. Cardstock is Gina K. Pure Luxury White, Kraft, and Black Onyx.

Next, we have my Fill it With Flowers set.  This set is staying on my desk for sure, goes with so much! These flowers and containers will work for any occasion, and I can't wait to see what YOU will create with them! The Hydrangea and Gerbera daisy flowers are also great stand alones, and are *not* part of the Stately Flower series!  (How could no state claim these beauties? Some of my faves!)  I will share some samples and videos using just the flowers, or the containers with images from other sets later, I promise, but today it's all about filling these!

These colors might look a little unnatural for leaves, but I was going for those dried, dyed branches you can get at World Market or Pier One for arrangements. I'm happy with the look, hope you like! Love this for fall, or a less flowery, more masculine look.  I think it would work nicely for a sympathy card also. I used Spectrum Noir markers LV1, LV2, EB1, GB8, GB6, GB7, PP1, DR7, IG2, and IG3. I will definitely do a video showing how to get nice shadows to shade like the wrap is folded, slightly crinkled  paper! I wish it showed up better in the photo, but I used the Cuttlebug Distressed Branches folder on the Black Onyx mat, which I love anyway, but I think goes so well with the textures of these eucalyptus and lemon leaf branch images.  Base is GKD Honey Mustard.

Isn't this a happy card?   Stamp the wrap first, then the bow, then mask the wrap and add your flowers next, cover the flowers and stamp the leaves as desired. Don't you love this striped bow?  I can finally afford all the striped ribbon I want, lol! It can also go over the bottle, layered over the other wrap containers, and added to the cup handle. No coloring needed for the bow unless you want it two tone, or to add a simple a shadow by tracing along the underside with the same color as the shadow you use on the outside to give it dimension. Tip: Stamp the tag anywhere and then draw a simple line for the string to attach it to the tied wrap like a piece of string. Or, of course, you can use real twine!  All the handwritten greetings and single words in the set fit on the tag. Use a 1/16" punch for the hole in the tag if you end up cutting it out.  Here I used Spectrum Noir EB1, GB8, IG3, CG3, CG4, FL1, CR9, CT3, CR2, CR4. Card base is GKD Pure Luxury Lipstick.

Last, I couldn't resist, showing something in one of the new container that wasn't a flower. These are the *pencils* from the most recent StampTV kit Sending Love.  I used the round label (stamped in GKD Dusty Rose) and greeting, also from that Art from the Heart set in the kit, to decorate the cup.  It is going to be *so* fun making all sorts of cute stamped cups!! For the background I just grabbed a bunch of those leftover strips of cardstocks you have form cutting down mats that were still by my cutter, in the same colors that I used to color the pencils, and adhered them at a diagonal and trimmed the edges. Shadow is Spectrum Noir GG2.

I just love this release!
