Day 1: Perfect Pallets, Beautiful Balloons, Your Wings

Hello! Welcome to the first day of inspiration hops!
Today we are showcasing Perfect Pallets
Beautiful Balloons, and Your Wings stamp sets.
Be sure to comment on each stop of the hop, each one counts as an entry to win a $50 gift certificate from Gina K. Designs. Winner announced August 2nd.  Good luck!

I am so happy to release my Perfect Pallets set for you finally!  (You'll wonder how you went without board stamps for so long, they are SO useful!) Its long and short boards are sized with A2 sized cards in mind, for portrait and landscape backgrounds, but as single boards for sentiments and so much more.  I'll be sharing a tip sheet next week with my next video and after hops, so you'll be ready to go to town when your set arrives! Here is a square card I made, using 4 short boards and some colorful ink cubes with the flowers and leaves.  It's so fun to build arrangements this way, and so many sentiments you can make with the words included. Cardstock is White an Sea Glass.

Here is a sample showing how you can make a fence with the boards, perfect for my dogs from Puppies Galore to peek over!  I'm also excited to create fences to go with different nature stamps like trees and leaves for fall cards, Autumn is just around the corner!
Here is a sample that has the boards staggered to create the background, more like a floor than a pallet, stamped in GKD Stormy Sky for the outline, then GKD Blue Lagoon to fill them in. I love how the any skips from me filing to ink the bold stamp completely or not being *exactly* lined up looks like weathered or peeling paint!

I wanted to finally show one sample without *any* boards, the arrow and floral elements and sentiments are so versatile for backgrounds and accents for CAS designs!  I just love arrows. Cardstock is Slate and Soft Stone, and stamping is GKD Slate, White pigment, and Gina's watermarking ink to emboss with the GKD Brass Band embossing powder.

If you missed the video with the walk through and the cards below for Perfect Pallets, please scroll down to the post below to see how to create a background with these boards!!

I'll be mixing it up with the rest of the new release sets tomorrow as well, you can bet on that!

Next up, we have Beth's Beautiful Balloons set. After stamping the different patterned balloons in the new Electro pop colors and stamping strings, I blended on some Blazing Blue ink with the new stripey stencil in the Pop Art Card kit (we are showcasing that tomorrow!) with a Life Changing Brush. ISkipping aorund suggests clouds for a really graphic but whimsical sky!  I used alcohol markers to create a shdow on the left of each balloon and white gel pen at top right for highlight.

I always like to substitute sentiments for straight or curved elements, so had to try this with the long greetings and then finishing them off the the curling stamped strings.  I stamped the different patterned balloons in Electro Pop Screamin Green, Poppin Pink, and Blaring Blue, and added a white gel pen highlight to each at the top right and shadow around the lower left of each with an alcohol marker for more dimension.  Blue balloon is die cut and popped up with a foam square.

Next up, Lisa's beautiful Your Wings set. Wonderful combinations of butterfly and floral elements abound!
I blended the Electro Pop Loud Lime on the background, then used Blaring Blue over the new stencil, using a Life Changing Blending Brush, and GKD Sea Glass,Tranquil Teal and Electro Pop Screamin Green inks for my stamping. For the sentiment, I stamped my board from Perfect Pallets in Tranquil Teal on White, then two step stamped in the bold board in Sea Glass ink, stamping Lisa's greeting in GKD Jet Black Amalgam. I love the natural element that adds.
Last I accented the mat and stenciling with GKD Crystalline Drops for shine and dimension.
Cardtsock is GKD White, Black Onyx, and Blue Raspberry.

On this next card I used the Electro Pop Orange Glow and Poppin Pink and Potent Purple for the greeting to create a gradient, and then stamped the butterfly and flowers in black. I used the same Electro Pop colors through the new stencil. As you can see on both cards, the Funky Flourishes go really well with the stamp set. I was careful to keep the blending with my small Life Changing Blending Brush inside the butterfly wing to look that is the wings pattern.

Last I accented the mat and stenciling with GKD Crystalline Drops for shine and dimension.
