Video: Torn Edges, Two Ways

Hello!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend! In today's video, I'll show you how to create a faux torn edge with sponging, ink and the script stamp from Stately Flowers 9  to create a little page reveal.  This technique is so easy and produces a wonderful illusion of layering and texture.  You can instead stamp textures or images over this sponged edge, but the script adds some romance. (With the vine running along it, it almost looks like a crumbling wall) Additionally, I tore the mat to reveal more of the flowers stamped tone on tone.  If you're going to tear mat, have something interesting to see underneath! :) All these elements create a wonderful and trendy collage feel, but no cutting and only two mats!  I also do some simple Spectrum Noir coloring, and recommend some Copic alternatives.

Isn't the Dark Sage beautiful here?  And I love this little flourish with all my "Statelys"! See all my Stately Flowers sets here

  1. Super video. Love this technique. This is a gorgeous set. I really like the wonderful script stamp. Thanks for including the Copic alternatives. I have a fortune tied up in Copics and really don't want to switch.

  4. Great video. Wanted to take a moment to thank you for including the numbers to use in Copics. That is the one thing I am disappointed in the changes at Gina K. Not that I don't love, love her and will always watch her videos. Just disappointed that those of us with copics are feeling kind of left out!
    Thanks again, Jan
