Roses are Red...

Here's a little poem I found in the bottom of William's backpack last week.

(Altogether now, 1, 2 3...awwwww!) What a sweetie! (Let me know if you don't speak/read "mom/kid!" and need a translation! ;)

And here were my favorite pages from the Mother's Day book he made me...
About the cover border, he says "I don't know what those squares are...elevators, maybe?" I suggested presents, but he didn't seem to think so LOL
"My mom is the best" (Did he really draw me in a bathing suit??)
What can I say, the kid knows I like to stamp! (hard to miss!) Not sure if all those stripes at the bottom are decoartive or scraps of paper on my floor, hmmmm...
(Eek, where did all my hair go??)
Yes, I do. :)

I have to please ask for your continued prayers for our health, it turns out he has walking pneumonia, and will be home for at least another day before he can be around other kids at school since it is contagious. He's also not allowed to do anything too active for the next several days so his lungs can rest, that's going to be hard for my Energizer bunny!) I hope hope HOPE none of us get it because we have a LOT going on right now! Thanks so much for comments, emails and prayers!

Had a terrific story emailed to me yesterday, I'll post later, gotta keep cracking on some work, have great day, thanks for stopping by!

Sickness and Health!

Sorry I've been a stranger, my boys are recovering form sinus and ear infections and I am recovering from laryngitis and eye infections! i have a lot of catching up to do for creating nd posting, as well as getting all my samples done for our next release, sneak peeks starting on Monday night, party next Thursday November 4th! I also need to make some cards for the Hope You Can Cling To challenges over at SCS, I am sponsoring their giveaway with some stamp sets so I hope you all are playing along when you can!

I DO have a couple fun and simple Halloween card ideas I hope to get done this afternoon and post for you, but in the mean time, I know so many of you have little ones, so here is a short video made by the children of Aviva Goldfarb who authors the "The Six O Clock Scramble" meal planning service I recommended here a few months ago (By the way, I have made over 130 unique dinners from her menus since I started subscribing back in March!) Her daughter shows three super cute, easy, and HEALTHY snacks your kids can make to celebrate Halloween. After watching, I now have plans to pick up some cream cheese, pita breads, and pretzels after watching (we have the other stuff on hand already!), the kid will be so excited to make these when they come home. :)

Ok, off to try to get some work done! I pray you are well and good but if not heal up soon!

My Left Thumb*

THUMB UPDATE: Thank you, thank you for all the emails, prayers and recommendations for my hand!!! I have seen some improvement in the past couple days and am learning through trial and error what I can and can't do, as well as what will really trigger more pain and numbness, or even put me "back to square one"(forgetting to rest and pressing the lid closed on a Tupperware container, whoa, who'd a thought!!), but I did make two projects yesterday and I hope to complete two more today! Every once in awhile I accidentally knock it against something that really makes the pain fresh again, but I really am trying to avoid using my thumb as much as possible.

The main focus has been how to do the simplest things with my other hand, I know I posted a couple years ago that if I ever lost the function of my hands, I was so passionate about illustrating I would have to learn to draw with my feet, but I see now there would be a LOT of other more basic and pressing things to relearn first (making your kids sandwiches, brushing teeth, putting on mascara (poked my eyeball with the wand) etc, etc! lol!) I read a book on suffering the week BEFORE this all happened though (I'll tell you more about it later) and how God uses it for our good as well as to allow us to help others, and He really used it to prepare me for this with my hand, that man's suffering and pain and the good that came out of it really put my little ol' hand issue into perspective! And I have a new appreciation for all of you who deal with arthritis, carpal tunnel, chronic pain or other issues on a daily basis that make crafting difficult and craft anyway, those creations are truly labors of love. I will pray for you and I would so appreciate your continued prayers, thank you!!

Next up, tonight I'll have that recommendation for the meal planning service I mentioned, it has truly changed my life in so many ways and I think it could change some of yours, too! :)

* not trying to confuse things, it IS my RIGHT Thumb that is injured, but it's a nod to one my favorite films "My Left Foot" (breakout performance for Daniel Day Lewis, run to rent this beautiful film if you have not seen and grab hankies on the way) the true story of artist Christy Brown who because of cerebral palsy only has the use of his left foot for writing and painting
