Super Girly Day!

Here is a girly card I made for our pre-teen neighbor and family friend with Basket Additions 3 and Spring Basket. When I drew this image I thought about some iconic things of my childhood and now that represent the stuff that little girls are made of. I had fun paper piecing the Barbie dress and locked diary with papers from the GKD Hello Sunshine pack. Now I can have all those Barbie clothes I *might* have coveted, and then some! :)

What year were YOU born? Was some of this stuff in your basket? How about your daughter, what's in hers? Would love to know! Tip: If your sweetheart is really into stuffed animals you can snip out a teddy or puppy from Basket Additions 2 or Basket Blessings to add in with all these other things. Or, if she is a bit of tomboy, mix up some of the stuff from the "boy" image in the set. That would have been me!

Or, tell me about what a girly day is to you? For me, that would be shopping with a friend, cupcakes and pedicures! Ahhh! (Cammie, come back!!)

Thanks for visiting!

Muddy Paws!

Hello! The kids are back to school (more about that in a bit), so I got a little stamping done! I had this idea to make a tile floor with the Scor-Buddy on white and then stamp lots of random tracks all over with the paw print to look like the "Basket Buddies" puppy tracked in mud, now that's ruff to mop up! I thought about misting the paw print with some water but I thought that might get a little too messy looking. Maybe later!

Originally I was just going to have the paw prints and the sentiments, no puppy, like he was off hiding somewhere, but the card needed a little something, so I had to add him back in, along with the "Spring Basket"! (Pretty bold just sitting there grinning, oblivious to the mess he's made!) Make sure to color his feet nice and muddy!

Cardstock is Pure Luxury White, Chocolate Brown and Tan Leather, and ink is Memento Rich Cocoa. I also some tied some knots in a double strand of hemp to add some texture to the basket.

Have a great day! Don't let the mud get you down!

Welcome,Little One

Hope you are having a good week! We have been in San Antonio the past few days and are now gearing up for a slumber party this weekend! I remembered I have a few cards I submitted for publication (which I really liked!) that did not get accepted, so I can go ahead and share them! I'll start with this baby card I made using "Spring Basket" and "Basket Blessings", since I just released the coordinating "Basket Buddies". (If you noticed, I have the "Heard your family has grown!" sentiment in "Basket Buddies" which can be used when someone gets a new pet (or pets), has a new litter of puppies/kittens etc (but could also be used on a baby card with images from the Blessings set.)) Imagine some little puppies or kittens in this design instead of the stuffed toys from the "Basket Blessings", wouldn't that be sweet? :) I love mixing and matching!

I stamped the flower from Basket Blessings all over the Pure Luxury Innocent Pink cardstock and then scored it to look like a quilt, and embossed holes with the Scor-bug around the edge and attached them tracing with with an Angel Pink marker. The basket lining blanket is not pieced, I actually made that with the flower stamp too on white CS sponge with pink, love perfect coordination like that! I picked up that eyelet trim at Hobby lobby for cheap, cheap, I love how it turned out draped over the corner. Sentiment is stamped on a Grommet tag. I used Kraft CS for the scallop punched corner and basket, and colored the image with Copics.

Okay, more in a bit! I have so many photos to upload of things we have done this summer to share about our family adventures, one of the latest being a hill country winery tour last weekend with three other couples... in a stretch Hummer limo!! We were so blessed to be invited along and have that unique experience!

School starts in less than two weeks and things are really going to change with the boys being back! One of which more time to blog, stamp and design some super cool new sets for you!

Day 2: "Basket Buddies" and "Heartfelt"

Good morning, and welcome back to Day 2 of our Inspiration Hop! Extra long post today because I've missed blogging and creating for you, and finally got some time to play, and I mean PLAY, with these new little pets, I mean, stamps! I haven't enjoyed a set as much as the new "Basket Buddies" in awhile, can't resist baby animals! The poses really lend themselves to a lot of possibilities and the greetings are terrific for all sorts of cards, gifts and scrapbook pages.

Here is my favorite card from the party the other night, I cut out just one of the puppies, stamped on white and colored with E50 and E51 (to look like a yellow lab) and then popped him up inside this scrap of Chocolate Brown die cut with a Square Nestabilites to look like he's peeping out a window. Embossing dots around the base and frame with a Scor-Bug and Scor-buddy add a lot of interest. I stamped the little name plate in Memento London Fog on white and colored with a gray Copic. I love this little guy's panting grin, so this is the perfect sentiment to use when he's on his own! The final touch which I think makes the card is punching out a few scalloped bites to the sides, very easy detail to add to doggy cards!
I also stamped some little puppy tracks inside the card and across the envelope, these paw prints are terrific for making easy and eye-catching animal patterns!
And of course the set is called "Basket Buddies" so all those cutie patooties can hunker down into the "Spring Basket"!
Here I put the cat and dog together, I angled the cat a little to look like he is nuzzling his buddy! purrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
The basket is stamped on Kraft CS and sponged on the sides and bottom with Frayed Burlap Distressing ink. DPs are from Echo Park "Walk in the Park", I pieced the basket liner (which can also be a cushion)
Last I have this simple pet sympathy card, so often friends we know are grieving the illness or loss of beloved pets who are truly members of the family, and I haven't really had any appropriate stamp to make a card for them. The images and sentiments I've created for this set I feel honor the animal's life, and comfort the recipient with memories of happier times.* Here I just die cut one little paw print out of white cardstock and matted and popped it up on a sponged Tumbled Glass background for sky. Then I stamped a row of faithful dogs with bones and playful kitties swatting at butterflies in the same color ink for subtle but sentimental border.

The next set we have today is "Heartfelt" by Theresa Momber. In addition to lots of outdoor images, what pretty flowers! Depending on the colors you use, these flowers don't really make me think " autumn" at all, so I'll be using them year round, in Texas we have flowers that look like this in about every color I can think of! I love using white on white sometimes, the embossed frame and die cut Fancy Tag Three add a lot of interest and the greenery really pops. I used G93 and G99 for the leaves, E13 and E77 for the centers and just a touch of R00 to the petals near the center.
Now, I am just having too much fun mixing today's two sets! Here you see I did an easy modification to the fence from "Heartfelt", perfect for perching some pets! (full card in this post)

...and when you start looking, what can't you dangle these little guys over?? (pumpkins from Heartfelt, we'll assume these are those cute mini pumpkins, not monster dogs LOL!)
There was a request for a "beagle" stamp the other night at the party, so I just colored to look that way! (because really don't all puppies look like roly polies when they are little, no matter what breed?) ;)

And then, you can get really silly...!
For the pumpkin caps I just colored the top halves of a second set of pumpkins and cut them off, isn't that cute? (And how about black cats with the pumpkin for Halloween...?) Love it!! Stay tuned for more simple layout-but-super sweet ideas like these in the weeks to come, I just can't stop!!

Don't forget to leave comments here and all along the hop, the more you leave, the more chances you have to win a stamp set of your choice from Gina K Designs! Thanks for visiting today!

Designing Friend: Melissa Bove (and Blog Candy!)

Happy Friday! I have the pleasure of sharing two beautiful cards with you today from my designing friend, Melissa Bove! Melissa has such a beautiful, shabby style and a love for detial, and I am LOVING these wonderfully feminine samples she's created with Spring Basket" and "Basket Blessings"!
Check out the beautiful prints on this bunny card, they are all so delicate and muted, work perfectly together. The deep pink ink she chose to stamp the basket liner really makes that part pop! She also arranged several of the single tulips around, stamping each in pastel colors and filling with coordinating inks and touch of glitter is such a beautiful look!
This next sample which uses one of the flower borders from "Spring Basket" and a greeting from "Basket Blessings" has a wonderful vintage style, these flowers are a great element to add collage style to vintage papers. Such a romantic feel again, with all the distressing, lace, etc!

I hope you were inspired by Melissa's creations today, I definitely was! Thank you Melissa for sharing your talents and thank YOU everyone who is purchasing these sets, they are HOT sellers right now and I am so glad you're enjoying them as much I'd hoped you would. Please see Melissa's blog for more details about these cards and leave her some love!
Let's have some candy today, shall we?? Please leave me a comment below telling me which of these two sets is your favorite and/or a special idea you have for either set! If you've posted any samples on your blog or an online gallery, you can leave a link to it, we'd love to see! Subscribers and followers can leave a second comment for an extra chance to win! Sign up today if you have not already! Tomorrow I will draw two names to win one of these coordinating sets! Thanks for stopping by!

Spellbinders Blog Hop

Good morning! The Gina K Designs team would like to welcome to you a special Spellbinders Thank You Blog Hop!! Recently Spellbinders generously gifted each member of our Design Team with the amazing new Grand Calibur, what a perfect gift for a papercrafter and we are all enjoying this fabulous machine! We have made some special cards and projects to showcase the new Grand Calibur and why we are loving it so much! (You should be coming from Lee Murphy's blog, but if you're starting here, you will find another link at the end of this post which will take you to the end and allow you to circle back around!)
Here is a card I made with one of the Fancy Tag Dies. These beautiful tags are often the inspiration for the entire card, the elegant flourished and intricate details make it easy choose paper and images to create a gorgeous, coordinated project and really add flair to any sentiment! I embossed a greeting from "Basket Blessings" in gold into the center of the die and then rubbed some metallic paste over the die before removing it, I love using these dies like stencils, just makes the beautiful details in the embossed edges pop even more.

I embossed my bunch of tulips and lilies from "Spring Basket", stamping one on ivory cardstock then flipping the stamp over to stamp below and create this rounded, wreath effect. Cut out and mounted under the tag die cut, it looks like a beautiful medallion, I love the way the flower bunches frame the sentiment.
Gina K Pure Luxury Good as Gold and Ivory Cardstock
Gina K Organdy, adhesive nailheads, Wave Flourish Punch
As I've said before, the thing I love most about the Grand Calibur is having the ability to cut and emboss so many images at once on the large plate, but I also love how evenly it applies pressure, so that even when you are doing one die like this Fancy Tag, it easily cuts out all those tiny details in just one pass.

Thank you again, Spellbinders for the Grand Calibur! For someone like me who is a constant collector of Nestabilities, this machine and streamlines the cardmaking process and gets me using all these beautiful dies more often! Love it!
Time to continue the hop, please check out another project using Spellbinders at Michelle's blog!

Guest Designer Melissa Cash

I am really excited to share a little Q&A with my guest designer for "Spring Basket"! Melissa has been on my radar for a long time now, she is such a talented cardmaker and has just created such magical projects with my "A Year of Flowers" and "Pressed Flowers" sets. Featured in this post are a few project that stood out to me! So when I was ready to release "Spring Basket" I knew she'd be a perfect choice, it didn't hurt at all she emailed me *shortly* before I had a chance to ask her, saying how much she'd love to see me release a set of "petites" to go with her favorite set "A Year of Flowers"! Well, you just love when things like that happen, Melissa Cash, come on down and enjoy your moment!

Tell us about yourself! Family, pets, where you live, work, etc:

I have been married for almost 25 years (on May 10) to David and we have two grown boys. Jim is 24 and Jon will be 20 in June. I am so lucky to live near one of the most beautiful places on earth, Yosemite National Park and I have worked/teach classes at my local stamp store. I love animals and have two terrier mix dogs(Abby and Wags, both are rescues) I volunteer for my local SPCA when I can. My life is full of many blessings.

Describe your style/what you think you do best:
I would say my style is pretty mainstream. I love to use images that are timeless and can be used for many occasions.

FAVORITE TECHNIQUE: Layering, layering and layering!

COLORS/COLOR COMBO:
Just about anything paired with green makes me happy. I use a lot of pinks, greens, aquas and browns.

FAVORITE EMBELLISHMENTS:
Rhinestones, ribbon and flowers

FAVORITE GINA K SET BY MELANIE:
Hmmm, this is a hard one. Right now I am loving Spring Basket, but I also love A Year of Flowers and Pressed Flowers too! Heck, I love them all.....who am I kidding? (her first Spring Basket sample is pictured below)

FAVORITE GINA K SETS (FROM ANY ILLUSTRATOR)
All of them! Too many to decide.

CRAFT SUPPLIES I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT:

Copics, Gina K. PL White, Black and Kraft cardstocks, Tonic Trimmer and Nestabilities dies.

I’VE BEEN STAMPING FOR (HOW LONG):
About 20 years. Yep, I have been around along time.

I GET MY INSPIRATION FROM:

First, I am inspired by nature and the beautiful colors of nature. Second, I am inspired by the many different blogs I peruse each day. There is so much talent in the stamping world. I am also inspired by different stamping challenges, sometimes a challenge is just what I need to spark my creativity.

Tell us about your FIRST stamping experience!!
It was in the fall of 1990 and I was at a little gift shop and they were doing a demo on embossing. They were embossing bats with black EP on brown paper bags. That was all it took, I was hooked. I bought the bat stamp, ink, embossing powder and a Milwaukee heat gun (which I still have and use 20 years later). Funny thing about this, is that I don't really care much about Halloween, but I bought that little bat anyway!

Tell us about your most MEMORABLE stamping experience!!
Hmmm, this is a tough question. We went on a stamping cruise 11 years ago and were pretty disappointed. On the way home from the cruise we decided to create a retreat of our own. This year (last weekend in April) will be the 10 anniversary of The Great Yosemite Stamp Escape. I think it is one of the greatest experiences because I have met some wonderful instructors and stampers over the years. Stampers really are amazing people!

THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS I’VE LEARNED ABOUT STAMPING/CARDMAKING ARE:
Stampers/cardmakers are some of the most kind, loving and supportive people you will ever meet.

SOME OF MY STAMPING/CRAFTING GOALS ARE:
I would also love to be on a design team(s) someday. My goal is to continue teaching people the craft that I love. I would love to travel and teach.

ADVICE FOR BEGINNERS:
1. Don't think you need to have every stamp, tool, embellishment that is on the market. Take it slow and find your niche.

2. Don't give up and don't every think your work isn't "good" enough.
3. Have fun!

FAVORITE THING TO MAKE THAT AREN’T CARDS:

Little boxes and gifties.

SOME OF MY STAMPING/CRAFTING ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

1. Seeing my work in a magazine. I think I have been published about 10 times in some of the different magazines. Remember way back when Take 10 magazine first came out? I had a card on the cover, I was on cloud nine. I haven't submitted much since then....weird huh?

2. Teaching classes. I am so fortunate to have an amazing stamp store minutes from my house I teach a couple of classes a month.

3. Being on the Center Stage Team and doing design work has been a complete joy for me.

CHALLENGES I LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN:

Sketch and color challenges are my favorite. I have files and files of sketches that I refer back to for inspiration all of the time.

TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF THAT MIGHT SURPRISE US!

1. I have been fortunate to meet Paula Deen (the amazing Southern cook) two times. Once at her cooking school and once at a benefit dinner at her home.
2. I have a travel bug, my hubby says I have one foot in the road at all times. My motto is "have passport, will travel"
3. I don't like clowns..they are scary.

WHAT I DO WHEN I’M NOT STAMPING:
I like to spend time with my family, read and travel when I can.

A FAVORITE QUOTE:
The better part of one's life consist of his friendships~Abraham Lincoln

I hope you enjoyed learning a little more about Melissa as much I did! One thing I am sure of, someone who has that as their favorite quote must be a true blue friend to others! :) Now let's go see a "Spring Basket" project from Melissa on her blog, I can't wait to see what she's dreamed up! And while you're there, please "follow" this talented lady, her cards are gorgeous, and you hard it from the woman herself: 20 years of stamping experience AND a paid stamping instructor, we could all learn something! ;)

Have a great day!

STV Sketch Spotlight 16

Good morning, and happy Monday! Time for a new STV Sketch Spotlight! Today's card was thrown together in about 10 minutes, but with stuff I already had on hand, let me explain, it is kind of a lesson in "use what you have!"
I had already stamped colored and cut out these three individual pieces, the flowers and basket from "Spring Basket" and the chicks from "Basket Blessings" , just coloring one day, not intending to use any of them together, just *some* time! I didn't have my sample ready for this morning so I grabbed these three images from my "grab and go" pile. When I start with DP, I usually pick the colors for images from that, but I had no purple papers! Our cards can sometimes get really matchy match when we work this way and don't have enough contrast, purple and yellow are complementary colors so I saw putting the chicks with these flowers would look really nice together and allow me to pick form some of my yellow and green papers I had in the Basic Grey Origins pack(first pack on top of the stack, I have to go volunteer ina few minutes so didn't even have time to try others LOL!). I used an eggplant colored ink for the "In Stitches" stamped on the printed panels to tie in the Vibrant Violet base. (I intended to use a smaller stitch but couldn't find the set at first glance but this one was stil out on my table, that's how rushed I was!! It actually looks kind of nice with the weave on the basket and frilly flowers, hmmmm... LOL!))
Gingham is 5/8" Pure Luxury. The basket was stamped onto white paper and shaded with grays to look like a white basket, but since I ended up putting it with these blue and purple flowers and violet base, I went over the gray areas with a pale Lavender BV31 Copic to unify the colors.

Be sure to sure the tag STVSKSP16 when you upload you new creation with the sketch to the StampTV gallery! I hope you play along and good luck winning the free stamps!

Jonathan is at school with a heavy dose of Ibuprofen and we got an appointment to see the doctor today after school, thanks for praying!

"Spring Basket" and "Basket Blessings" Tip Sheet

"Spring Basket" and "Basket Blessings" have to be two of my favorite coordinating sets I've illustrated, and I have a LOT of coordinating sets! I look forward to sharing the possibilities and fun you can have with these die cut sets! I will continue to give you ideas about how to take these two sets well past spring...

Stamp the basket onto scratch paper and cut out to use as a mask. This way you can cover your pre-stamped basket and then stamp images over the top, then remove to look like they are inside. To save time on your mask, just cut the top edge since this is where you most likely will be needing to mask anyway! :)

Stamp out the bouquet arrangements on scratch paper and do a careful trim around the bottom only. This allows you to stamp the flowers, cover them with your mask and stamp the basket over it. When you remove the mask it will look like the flowers are spilling over the edge.

Stamp, cut out and pop individual flowers to layer over the bunches for a fuller look.

Use the bouquets on their own as borders. Turn them so the curved edge is on the outside so they can curve around a circle or oval die cut.

Stamp the bouquets on the inside of your card and/or the flap of your envelope for complete coordination with you card front.

Snip the bouquets apart so you have several sizes of each type of flower to work into your card layout in any way you choose.

Use some of the individual flowers that match the bouquet you choose to stamp into your basket, leaving them out around the bottom of the basket, like you have not finished arranging them or like one fell out, a beautiful, casual look!
Put two of the same bunches opposite each other so they can "frame" up a greeting, like the mirror image top and bottom of a label.

Stamp the flowers collage style over plain, colored cardstock or patterned paper to create gorgeous floral backgrounds.

These flowers can be used with almost any stamping/coloring technique, have fun!

Trim the basket down to make it shallower or have straighter sides. Removing the very top fluted" part makes a more "masculine" looking or less Easter specific basket.

Make petite arrangement with the single flower elements. The single flowers make a beautiful little accent whenever you need a little something on your card. same for the tiny leaves, work like little flourishes.

Enjoy mixing the small single flowers with the larger "A Year of Flowers" images.

You can also use the "Buds and Vases" flowers in the basket.

Use the woven handle at the top center to the basket or have two hanging diagonally to either side, meeting in the middle.

Use a little brad to accent the handles.

Tie a little bow at the top of the handle or at the bottom.

Take a hobby blade and cut some vertical slits through the middle of the basket. Thread some narrow ribbon through and then tie, it will look like it is woven through the reeds.

Pull colors from your color scheme or DP to color a few bands of the reeds in the same color for a very customized, matchy basket!

Flower Soft makes beautiful filler/Easter grass! It also makes beautiful pollen for the flower centers!

Have fun going through your stamp images to see what else can go into the masked basket!

Invert the basket and have something hiding, peeking out underneath and use the peek-a boo greeting from "Basket Blessings".

Use the different borders from "A Year of Borders" to make a beachy basket full of shells, basket full of fall leaves etc!

Use the different greetings from "Basket Blessings" with "Spring Basket" to make flower basket cards fro any occasion: baby, birthday, bridal etc!

Not just for brown: use soft pastels in spring for a dyed basket, earthy colors for natural or fall baskets, reds and greens or even metallic colors for painted holiday baskets etc.

Emboss the basket in gold or silver and color for a gilded look.

Tip the basket on its side to change your layout and have stamped images spilling out.

All the animals can be used on their own, or placed in the basket. use you basket mask to make them look they are stamped inside. Or stamp the animals first then cut out your basket and pop it over it for a more dimensional look.

Have fun piecing the ruffle with patterned papers like a liner. This will make your basket snuggly soft for those stuffed animals!

The stuffed animals are super fun to paper piece. try using two coordinating patterns on an animal to really emphasize it's different parts. or use on patterned paper and then go over certain section, example ears or trunk with a darker colored marker, this will look like second coordinating print.

Add dimension to your paper piecing by tracing around the edges with a marker in a similar color to create shadows.

To place the stuffed animals in the basket, trim around the trunk on either side and around the floppy rabbit ear, then slide down into the basket, this allows the little limbs to hang over.

Use the peek-a-boo sentiment with these animals as well as your other stamps and have just the top of the image showing, then do a reveal inside the card like they are popping out.

Stamp the images for inside the basket onto a tag that you can pull up out of the basket to reveal the full image, peek-a-boo!

Stamp the chicks and eggs more than once so you can cut out and color extra eggs to fill up your basket or Easter layout. Feel free to trim one or both chicks off your stamped images or omit inking them with a marker to suit your layout. have fun mixing the chicks and bunnies together.

Use a pale yellow and a dark yellow to color the chicks and give them a fuzzy dimensional look.

Stamp the animals in row a row or fill up an entire mat in a light shade or watermark to create a cute matching or baby theme patterned paper to go with your colored image. "Blessing Borders"! ;)

Use a marker, colored pencil to draw a few simple blades of grass below and around the bunnies and eggs and chicks to make a charming little outdoor scene on your project without using the basket.

Nestle the bunnies and chicks just under some hand cut paper grass (trimmed like fringe) or die cut grass border.

Have fun giving the bunnies patches, making ears the ears or feet different colors, etc. They are very easy to add shadows to, leave white and trace around sides with grey or color with grays black or browns and trace the edges a shade darker than the body color.

Try stamping the animals on velvet paper for fuzzy texture and cut out.

After stamping the bunnies, snip them apart so they can be in different position in different places on the card or used alone depending on the expression you need, smiling or giggling!

Invert the ruffle to look like a tissue paper liner standing up and place your flowers above that.

See what else your ruffle can be! The valance of a window for a tall, scenic card, the covering over a small table to you could rest a vase of stamped flowers on, etc.

Use Fun Flock or Flower Soft on the chicks and bunnies tails. Try tiny pom poms on the bunnies.

Enjoy coloring the decorated eggs with colors from your color scheme. One egg was left plain so you can paper piece it.

Take cues from the eggs to find patterned papers that will look good for mats with it: plaids, stripes, flowers, polka dots, etc.

Accent mats with the daffodils or make floral backgrounds. Use them with the stems and leaves from "Spring Basket". Or layer them over the bunches in "Spring Basket" for lush, mixed bouquets.

Add dimension to the daffodils by stamping them twice then cutting out the center part of one to put up on a pop dot over the other image, the center will now look dimensional.

Make cut tags with all the tiny greetings using your punches and die cut,s they will fit most any shape.

Create adorable Easter gifts and projects using the images as tags or embellishments to decorate little boxes, bags or Easter baskets.

That's all I have for now! I hope this was helpful to get your creative juices flowing! Coloring tutorials and samples to support all these tips and ideas coming soon! :)

Chocolate Bunny Love

Last card from the party: This giggling bunny from "Basket Blessings" really inspires me to explore all the possibilites of what he might be laughing about! Asela's "Chocolate Bunnies" and greeting inspired this card, a real bunny smitten with a chocloate one, and his friend finding it all very amusing, without the heart to tell him!

"Spring Basket", Cardstock: White Sweet Corn, Black Onyx; Basic Grey Sugar Rush; Classic Oval and Beaded Circle Nestabilities

Thanks for you all your comments about William! He says so many sweet and funny things every day (Jonathan too, of course ) ;), I will be sharing more here to have a record of them until I have them on paper!

Out of the Basket*

Okay, my head is too congested and I am too sleep deprived to complete my tip sheet or do that coloring tutorial for you, sorry for the delay! Here is a little hee hee in the meantime til I can finish up all these drafts in my dashboard...a favorite card from our party on Thursday, peek a boo!
When I added that greeting to "Basket Blessings" I knew it would get a LOT of mileage with so many things you can reveal just above the basket and then perhaps have your subject completely OUT of the basket on the inside of your card. Theresa's turtle from "Little Critters" was an obvious choice to me to go UNDER the basket, it's like a second shell! Can't you imagine the basket slowly moving by itself across the floor, "Toy Story" style, powered by this little guy? LOL! TIP: The basket is cut out and popped up to really give the 3D effect that he is under it. Shadow is W-1 and W-3.

"Peek-a boo" is super sweet for baby cards too, but also any time you need a bit of comic relief! (I need a little very day to keep me going!) Looking forward to more "out of the basket" giggles with "Spring Basket", AND with this turtle, oh wait til you see!

Sneak Peek Day 1: "Spring Basket" and "Basket Blessings"

Hello! Welcome to the first day of our Gina K Designs sneak peeks! I am thrilled to preview TWO new sets I illustrated this month: "Spring Basket" and "Basket Blessings"! The "Spring Basket" set contains smaller versions of your favorite springy images from "A Year of Flowers" (which you will LOVE mixing with your larger blossoms!), plus bunches of flowers (no need to mask!) and a beautiful basket to put them in!

Cardstock: Gina K Pure Luxury Grass Green, Innocent Pink, White, and Basic Grey Sugar Rush

There are endless ways to customize the basket to suit your taste and layout! (I couldn't resist sharing several, see how much fun I've been having playing already??) Crop it in half to create TWO shallow baskets (which I did on my sample above, using just the top half), handles or no handles, trim the sides to eliminate the fluted shape, or drop in a pretty "liner"! All the images you see below are from these two new sets! And I know you will find many other images in your stamp collection that will be super cute inside as well! ;)
This next sample I used just the chicks and eggs (one image) and a greeting, both from "Basket Blessings". I wanted to show you that all these basket "fillers" are FULL images, NOT just the top halves to go above the basket. This gives you a lot more versatility so you can use these images by themselves.

Cardstock: Gina K Pure Luxury Wild Dandelion, Grass Green, Bubblegum Pink, Ocean Mist, White, and Basic Grey Lemonade; Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Border, Petite Classic and Scalloped Ovals; Pure Luxury 5/8" Gingham
I am so excited to show you the full sets on Thursday and more samples with each and paired together! These images and greetings will take you way past Spring and the basket is SO easy to color, I'll share how after our peeks are over this week, so stay tuned! :)
