First up, we have the latest in my Stately Flowers series, Stately Flowers 4 (available in clear or rubber). This set contains 8 images-5 flowers, 3 butterflies (butterflies!!) and 13 sentiments (9 greetings, including the very versatile "To:" and "From:" for tags!), and 4 state names- Hawaii, Ohio, West Virginia and Washington.) While I *love* the last couple sets I've released, it was hard taking a few months off this Staely Flowers series so I'm glad to be playing in the flowers again! Thanks to ALL of you who wrote to Gina and me asking when it was coming back, hope you love the new set! :)
These blooms are terrific for inchies! I thought these little vignettes, or "moments in time"(which are actually 1 1/4 inchies here, that's my smallest square punch!) were perfect with this new sentiment, Cherish every moment!
Cardstock is Pure Luxury White, Key Lime, and Black Onyx. It's hard to see in he photo but I outlined the flowers with coordinating Stardust pens and added Inkssentials White pen to the butterfly wing spots, really makes them pop!
And here is the full card from my sneak peek the other day! Base is Pure Luxury Wild Dandelion, scored on the sides to add interest. love all these colors you can make these flowers! Anyone want me to post a Copic coloring tutorial? TIP: Cut on the lines in between the petals when you are popping these flower images up, this allow you to add more shape and curve to each petal, pulling and pushing them out and in with your fingers for a more dimensional, realistic look.
The next card uses the carnations and a little distressing inks sponged on to add warmth to the white mat. The torn edge and reveal of white goes so well with the jagged carnation petals and adds texture.
I couldn't resist adding this little branch (free file included with machine!) I cut from Pure Luxury Grass Green CS with my Silhouette Cameo that I showed you a few weeks ago, it goes so nicely with all these florals!
The smaller carnation is perfect for popping up over the carnation buds on the larger image to add dimension and variety. There are so many ways to color carnations, and you can use one marker to get a realistic look, don't even need to blend!
It will be hard not to add a butterfly from now on to all the Stately Flowers cards I make! (full card using this embossed background next week)
Hope you love the three in this set, although I read while drawing the series there are NO butterflies in Hawaii? Rosy, can you confirm?? :) I will try to resist the impulse, but with the hibiscus only! ;)
Finally a couple "no color" examples: hibiscus stamped in Memento Tangelo and Pear Tart. Butterflies stamped in Tuxedo Black on Pure Luxury Key Lime and Blue Raspberry cardstock. Love how quickly these large flowers can a make a colorful, no coloring required background, with lots of detail!
Sentiment is stamped on Pure Luxury Turquoise Sea and cropped with a Circle Nestabilities. Base is Sweet Mango.
And last, I had to try making a little distressed Kraft tag with the rhododendron! Tutorial coming soon, plus a distressed embossed card to put it on, grab your distressing inks!
You may have seen these designs at the party, tell me below in the comments which is/was your favorite! :)
Next up, we have Ticket Trio (available in clear or rubber) from Tami Mayberry.
I decided to make a Girls' Night Out card with the pink chevron DP from the Gina K Pure Luxury Sunshiny Day pack. Cardstock is Pure Luxury Passionate Pink, Smoky Slate, and Black Onyx.
I don't currently have dies to cut these stamps, so instead I stamped them out side by side on a strip of cardstock in black, then pierced dots in between to perforate with my Scor-Bug and Scor-buddy, and trimmed the corners with scissors. The gray mat is Cuttlebugged with Seeing Spots and embellished with adhesive rhinestones.
Thanks for visiting and please enjoy the rest of the hop with our team and these two sets!!!

ReplyDeleteSwooning here, Melanie. Yes, please give us a copic tutorial. I need all the help I can get in that dept. All of your cards are stunning, but I can't pull my eyes away from the one with the inches. Those flowers could be photos, only much prettier! When I've finished with the hop, I'm going to come back here and just drink it in. Thanks! And thank you so much for this newest set. I keep thinking you can't possibly top yourself, but then you do!

ReplyDeleteThose flowers are GORGEOUS! I love the way you punched the smaller squares, creating a totally different look!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous floral cards.
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful projects, as usual. But I may just have to CASE that first one. I love the colors, love the idea...And I may just be convinced to add another butterfly to my supply!
ReplyDeleteOh good! :-) I love having the three different sizes, so great for backgrounds
DeleteAwesome samples, as always, Melanie! Of your stately flower cards, I have two favorites. The first (Cherish every moment) is so striking with the lime on the black and then just the "Moments" of each flower. My other favorite is the no color Stop and Smell the Flowers card. IT's great to see samples that are equally stunning, but require less work for those times when detailed coloring just isn't in the cards!
ReplyDeleteLove the Girls night out invite. I'll be there!
wow gorgeous cards love the colors and the blending is awesome. thanks for sharing and for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteabbraddock@msn.com
Wow! The stamps and the cards are STUNNING! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteAll of them are fantastic and very hard to choose just one favorite.
ReplyDeleteLove these flowers and your coloring is impeccable. I like that you showed they don't have to be colored, but can be stamped in some fun colors. And the butterflies too stamped on a single color paper. The ticket set will be fun too, lots of possibilities. Lots of inspiration. ;)))
ReplyDeleteMelanie - this is not fair! There is no possible way I can say which is my favorite - as I looked, read and kept scrolling down, each card was so different and so beautiful! So I guess my favorite is all of them - LOL
ReplyDeleteLove the rhinestone accents on your Girls Night Out Card. Your flowers are GORGEOUS.....I see The 2nd Year Of Flowers Book in the making, absolutely stunning!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, coloring and design, Melanie.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stamps, flowers, cards, coloring. Yes please on the copic tutorial.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! They look great colored or not.

ReplyDeleteLove all your work, but I have to say my favorite was the first one. I always love clean and simple cards and the Key Lime background really sets off your flower stamps and the butterfly.
ReplyDeleteI especially like the first one, with the vignettes, and the "Stop and smell the flowers", with all hibiscus flowers.
ReplyDeleteWhat stunning stamps & cards, Melanie! You've outdone yourself this time! I'm very excited about all of the new releases.
ReplyDeleteThese are just great! The magic of stamping is we can have butterflies in Hawaii!
ReplyDeleteNo other way to describe your cards but "beautiful". Regina
ReplyDeleteregina95370@sbcglobal.net
I love the stately flowers. The hibiscus is such a beautiful flower...I'm glad it is one that can be purchased. Thanks
ReplyDeleteThose hibiscus are gorgeous and the butterflies --- love how you colored them! Mine never turn out that nice! I need to practice more I think.
ReplyDeletetonilea
jiffy1212@aol.com
What amazing projects! I love how you cut out only part of the image on the one, and then added dimension by cutting along the petals on another. Wow!
ReplyDeleteI really loved the moments in time card. Loved them all but that was my favorite.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous stamps, gorgeous cards!
ReplyDeleteMelanie, your flowers are wonderful. I love all the colored ones, but my favorite (today) is the "colorless" one. So simple, but so effective. Thanks for all the wonderful ideas.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful selection of cards -- it's really hard to pick a favorite. I like the "no-color" hibiscus (how easy!!), but my favorite is probably the inchies one you started with. I love the idea of using a larger stamped image to create a "sneak peek" inchie. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAlso, FYI, I simply love your artwork. Wish I could afford to buy ALL your sets!!
Thanks, Diana, I'll keep working hard to keep things at the top of your wishlist! :-)
DeleteI absolutely love the stamps, you could do so much with them, brilliant show. Wish I was able to afford to buy all the sets, as they are all so wonderful. Jen

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Stunning!!!!! all of your projects are simply amazing!!! The colors are gorgeous!! I love everything here!!! wonderful job!!!
ReplyDeleteI just love all of your flowers but I am particularly fond of this one as it has Ohio's carnation!
ReplyDeleteYay, glad I did it justice for you! :-)
DeleteLoved them all..absolutely gorgeous, but that green background really made the flowers pop on the first card.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are really works of art - thanks so much for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteCan a person ever have too many flower stamps? I don't think so! LOL These are gorgeous and will have to be added to my expanding collection!
ReplyDeleteI don't think so either, Cheryl, glad you agree! :-)

ReplyDeleteashields at onlinenw dot com
Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! Love them ALL!
ReplyDeleteI initially thought those flowers were to big for me. Then I saw you used them as inches. What a fab idea. Thanks The card is great. Julianne
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julianne! And I didn't use them on these, but there is the mini version of these flowers in the set in addition to the ginormous ones when you need something more understated. :-)
DeleteYour cards are just awesome. You did a beautiful job on them. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards. I thought I'd resort to the eeny-meeny-mini-mo method of decision making but decided to choose the multiple, beautifully painted hibiscus(es?) A wonderful stamp set.
ReplyDeleteIf only I could color like you! Those flower cards are marvelous. I'm also waiting to see what you do with the embossed butterfly background.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful!! You really show just what can be done with those floral stamps, and I love the colors that you used!! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThese state floral stamps are so
ReplyDeletegreat, and you do such a beautiful
job presenting them. I love the way they look so real on the cards.
I is a real bonus that you can have either the rubber stamps or clear. Thank you for sharing your
works. Take care.
I love the carnations - especially the colors as that color carnation is very special to me. My dad had sent Mom home with one from a boquet he had in his hospital room while recuperating from a heart attack. Unfortunately 3 day later he died and so did the carnation. My family made a boquet of the peppermint carnations for me from all the flowers at his funeral.
ReplyDeleteLove what you do - you give such great ideas.
Thank YOU Melanie for sharing your talents so generously! This set looks amazing, and I so appreciate your tips and hints for using it - can't wait for more tutorials. Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteThose are absolutely gorgeous. I love how some of them pop off the page. You are so talented!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, wow, wow. These 2 stamp sets are amazing. So many ways to use them. At the moment I only have one of the flower set but would love to have them all eventually!
ReplyDeleteYour new set is fabulous. The coloring on the hibiscus is gorgeous and I'd love to see a copic tutorial for it as well as for the carnation. I think my favorite of the cards is the first one with the mini squares. It is so bright and cheery. You're going to have to do another book for your wonderful Stately Flowers sets. BTW I signed up again - I wondered what was going on. Maybe I'll start getting the e-mail updates again. Thanks for all the great inspiration.
ReplyDeletegreat job, I never thought of using only part of the flower as in your first design.
ReplyDeleteIt's really amazing what you've done with those stamps! There are so many possibilities! They are so very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWow what great colors. They are just eye popping.
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous... you are so talented I would love to see you do a copic coloring tutorial... bring it on. You inspire me.
