Video and Giveaway!

The giveaway is closed, but it's stilla great resource video.  Please see this video for coordinating ink colors and for winner of the cardstock sampler giveaway.  And, I have a NEW giveaway in that link!

Hey everyone! I hit 6000 subscribers and am celebrating with a fun giveaway for all my viewers!  Check out this video with my favorite colors from Gina K. Designs.  Hope you find it informative and spot some of your faves, too!

You might notice a few changes in this video, although there are more changes to come  (a few things I added display properly in edit mode but not when viewing outside of that, so I have a ticket into Youtube to figure out the problem. Nothing major, just a little music and outro!  You can see it below, had to share it here, since I worked on it)

Thanks for bearing with me and my no frills production values up until this point, I like keeping all that simple to spend more time and coming up with creative ideas for the cards, but no more, I learned some simple ways even a not tech savvy gal like me can jazz it up!  I was invited to a Youtube Creator conference here in Austin last week (for channels with over 1K subs),  and it was a great opportunity to learn more about how to improve the videos and channel and build community, so I was really thankful to attend. Here I am running in to Lydia Fielder, who also lives here and has a crafty channel like I do! In a sea of gamers and beauty vloggers, we were definitely representing! Stampers in da house!

Anyway, I will announce the winner of the cardstock package in my next video. I hope you all leave your comment *on the video* (not here) and like it and subscribe to make sure you are entered!

Happy day!

Video: Stuff I Like: How to Apply Metallic Tats

Hey, everybody! Do you know how many emails I got about my "chain"? Wow!  So here's a little video, since I make videos. ;)

I also found a link for these on Amazon, click below. As you can see on that linked page, they are very well reviewed, 4.5 star average, and are from Hot Jewels (but fulfilled by Amazon), not a knock off. (To address the negative review, no, you do not need a heavy duty scrubber to remove.  Baby oil is great, just rub off with your poof in the shower. Promise. Just sayin'!)

Mmmkay, so right after I posted the video, they sold out, just like the stamp sets do! (but I'm sure they'll add more.) Here is another link I found for you, haven't tried this brand, but the designs look awesome, and the reviews are terrific. (I might need to add these to the cart, too. Feathers.....!)

Super cool for summer! And great for vacations, so you don't have to mess with jewelry, but still look great! Please enjoy this first "Stuff I Like" video! Yep, I like a few things other than stamps! ;)

UPDATE:  Gina just told me SHE sells them at Village Paper & Ink!  Not in the online store, though, retail location only.  But there's another endorsement! Fun times...

Video: Canvas Hydrangea

Hello! Today I will show you how to make gorgeous canvas collage texture on your mats, which is perfect for this Spectrum Noir colored hydrangea from my Fill it With Flowers set!

Tiny Textures and a sponge dauber are all you need to create this look. one thing, I forgot to add the pearl you see on one flower in the finished sample before I cut!  This one small detail adds so much!

So...Fill It with Flowers is now SOLD OUT, (more on order don't worry!) but it will be out for a few weeks while we await the shipment, but you can recreate this design with any of my other Stately Flowers sets, making your flower of choice the focal point as well as on the stamped background. Here is one I did with Stately Flowers 8, jessamine and greeting on the mat, and iris stamped on the pink background.

Which do you prefer? (Layout slightly different as well, options, baby!)

Please enjoy! I hate to tease you with this video if you hadn't bought it yet, but wanted to share anyway for those who just bought or are awaiting it's arrival. Again, it will be back in stock soon, StampTV will send an update when it's back to subscribers!

Cup of Hydrangeas

More Fill it With Flowers inspiration! I made several cards when my set first arrived and photographed them lying on my desk to how Gina what I had so far. This one never got staged for the blog, I sold it at the craft fair (and realized as I was selling it, "um...shoot, I never.. oh well...please enjoy!" The first part, just in my head, of course!)

Card is colored with Spectrum Noir markers: TB3, TB5, TB6, CR3, CR1, DR1, LG5, JG1, IG1, IG2. I added a stamped tag, greeting, and the bow to the handle, and used a white gel pen to add the teeniest highlight ot the base to show the curve. Love how this turned out! Base is GKD Pure Luxury Applemint.

Hope you are having a great week so far, halfway to Friday!

Gina K. Incentive Hop: Tiny Textures

Hello and good morning! The Cast and Crew for Gina K Designs welcomes you to a special blog hop featuring the new Tiny Textures incentive stamp set from the May StampTV Release Party! We hope to inspire you with some beautiful card projects as you hop along to each of the designer’s blogs!
Incentive Stamp Set- Tiny Textures

Tiny Textures is an essential stamp set that allows you add a splash of something fun to your scrapbook pages or will help you to make a cool stamped background to your card projects. The “Just Because” sentiment from the set is ideal to add the finishing touch to a quick, but thoughtful card!

Enjoy the gorgeous inspiration samples from the team and then comment on each blog for your chance to win a $20 Gina K Designs gift certificate! To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hop.

I have a video today for this hop! This "faux glaze" on the cup I created with the spatter image (doesn't that look just like those spotty multicolored drippy pieces of pottery?), and I also used it to make my own patterned paper mixed with the bold eucalyptus from Fill it With Flowers. I used the linen texture on the tag. This new incentive goes with *everything*, get it free now with a qualifying order (or for 10.95 when it goes into regular stock next month.) (Sorry I kept saying "Bahama" in the video, guess I need a vacation! The beautiful teal green blue is GKD Blue Lagoon.)

Supplies:
Gina K. Designs Fill it with Flowers, Tiny Textures stamp sets
Gina k. Pure Luxury White (4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”, 3 7/8” 5 1/8”, 2 ½” x 4 ¼’, and scrap for cup and tag) Warm Cocoa (4” x 5 ¼” and 2 3/8” x 4 3/8), and Black Onyx (scrap) cardstock

National Doughnut Day!

Yes, this is a thing! And, now that I know, I really *should* show my spirit and honor this day to the fullest with a trip to the nearest shop!  (Update: I didn't. But was there in spirit!) Here is a card I made with Claire Brennan's We Go Together set and my Triple Play Frame.  Aren't these little guys adorable?  Love the little arms and legs she added to get them moving!

I love using my Triple Play Frame when I want to design a card that showcases smaller images!  After stamping, adding appendages, coloring (be sure to leave some white on the icing to make it shiny!) and finally "sprinkling", I used those same color markers to fill in the rest of the frame's borders. Always enjoy Neopolitan colors together, it's the "yummiest" combo! Last I added the polka dot belly band fillers from Triple Play Fillers in Dusty Rose.  Greeting is stamped in Dark Chocolate and Black Onyx and cardstock is Pure Luxury White. I realize after photographing I forgot to add my shadows under the donuts, which would have been so much better, oops! Pretend they are there, 'cause I added!

Happy Friday! The kids are out of school! Summer, woo hoo! Happy National Doughnut Day!!!
