A fun way to add a tag or greeting when you use the truck is a metal edged frame with brads like this SU! silver hodge podge, you have an instant license plate! "You're a Classic" is from my "Tee Talk"set. I really wanted clean lines to show off the truck so a clean and simple layout with minimal embellishments was just what I wanted. CS is all Gina K Pure Luxury: Rocket Red, Black Onyx, White and Soft Sand.
Here's a sweet and simple card made with "Lazy Days of Summer" (why are none of my Summer days feeling so lazy?!) The ice cream is colored with Crystal Effects and popped up inside the Classic Heart Nestabilities window. Polka dot background is made with Gina's "Ribbon Stripes".
I wrapped some Pearl Vellum (Paper Temptress) punched flourishes around the corners and accented them and the Pure luury White sentiment card with some of the 2 and 3mm adhesive rhinestones, I love that delicate sparkle. Blue mat is SU! Bordering Blue (I ran a silver paint pen along the edge of the blue mat to get this double silver border) and card and base are Pure Luxury White.
Now one of my readers' favorite posts for "Cuddle and Hugs" was a tutorial of mine for coloring fur. Click on this link and you will see step by step pictures and instruction on how to give these little fellas the fuzzy wuzzy look you see below, it is very easy, and only requires a couple shades! I hope this helps you coloring all your furry images and shows how you can create texture with Copics (they're not just for "coloring in circles"!) :)
For this week's StampTV Potluck Friday Challenge, I am asking you to choose a piece of patterned paper and stamp on it with line art images (not bold), then color the images in. This will work best with a light colored patterned paper so your new colors will show up when you color over it, and selecting shades for coloring that will be also be light enough for the pattern to show through, make sense? Here I stamped "Arranged with Love" on a floral pattern from the Basic Grey Porcelain pack and coolored over the flwoers and leaves with pale pink and green Copics, I like how this creates a "floral on a floral" and gives a pattern to the background behind the flowers instead of just a solid color (without having to cut and piece, yeah!!) I also love how this makes the paper look like a completely new pattern.
My kids got so excited about these I barely got a chance to get them photographed LOL! You could also use a double hole punch, eyelet setter, Cropodile etc, but the double punches are nice because it's one step and the holes are aligned and the right size for the stick.
This week Selma created a fabulous shadowbox with "Arranged with Love" (I love making this type of card, but it's been awhile!) They are always SO great for weddings, showers or birthdays because it displays so beautifully: it stands up but can also be smoothed flat to put in an envelope. On today's card I used the "rock and roll" technique to add colors to the dandelion head in Gina's Free with Three Set this month: "Many Wishes" . This is such a great technique for showing off your bold stamps and I almost always do this with my bold ones to give the images more depth! Ink up the stamp in a pale yellow or tan to match the Soft Sand CS, then roll the edges of the stamp on a light gray ink pad, "huff" on it with your breath if you need to moisten the ink, and stamp. be sure not to get the gray ink in the middle you want that other color to show through. Doesn't that look just like the downy spores on a dandelion?
Here is a card made with Rupa's new "100% Sweet" cupcakes, it was too tempting not to add a few sweet additions of my own from "Have a Cookie" , these two sets mix SO well! Can you find them?* (Expect to find me experiementing with M&M or raisin topped carrot cupcakes in the future here LOL!!) :) I colored them all with Copics, cut them out and popped them up onto 1 3/8" squares punched from Chocolate Kiss and White Pure Luxury CS. I made the saffron base from a scalloped Nestabilites die. Sentiment is popped up on a heart Cuttlebug die cut. Accents on the strawberry, cherry and sprinkles done with the White Inkssentials gel pen.
This is the mat that I put on the first card I shared with "Arranged with Love", (you can see the finished card in this post. ) Here are all the Copics I used to do it, 12 colors plus a gray for shadows. As you can see, I usually only use two of each color and am still able to build a lot of lights and dark tones and still get them blended. For an "in between" shade, touch the tip of your lighter color to the darker marker and color away! Once you see the darker color fading, touch it to your darker Copic again to reload.
Now here is the same piece, flipped over! I couldn't resist snapping a photo of this "technique": faux watercoloring, which is simply coloring as you normally would and then letting the "bleed through" side of your coloring be your focal point! I stamped it on regular white copy paper (the kind I use in my printer) so the color would bleed through easily and I didn't have to use much to really get the nice, saturated shapes of the flowers and leaves. Plus it changes up the layout by flipping! Jut a fun alternative for this set, looks so "painterly" without the lines! I will definitely come back and post a finished card using this technique! ;)
I left the tent mostly white so it would look illuminated from within on a dark night and then used a gray marker to make a shadow of the raccoon's back half on the tent side. A Versamarker makes the perfect shadow under the tent and coon on the SU! Taken with Teal card base. mat is Pure Luxury Black Onyx. The pierced rows made with the Scor-Bug and Scor-Pal are a nice accent to go with the fine stitching on the tent.
Happy 4th! Here is a simple sample using Nina Brackett's "Bug Me Anytime", stamped in Vivid Coffee Bean onto Pure Luxury White and colored with Copics. With the style of the images and the circles elements, I wanted to keep it really clean and use a circle on a square card. The inspiration for the colors was Nina's digital paper, but I didn't end up using any on this card, I just really liked these colors she chose for summer! CS: Cool Caribbean, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie and Gina K Pure Luxury Chocolate Kiss.
The balloon is mounted on a pop dot, a penny and another pop dot through a small hole I cut with a craft knife, followed by another penny so the hot air balloon tilts back and forth. See below!
Inside I hid the penny with another punched circle stamped with the word "fun". I popped up the word relax and punched a circle through both the DP and the card base so it would show through this window to the inside. I also added a greeting inside from the kit: "Your love keeps lifting me". Image is colored with Copics.
Next she came up with this really clever gatefold design! When you open it up...
The frame divides in half with that little card overlapping, to reveal another sentiment inside!
Inside she used the single rose from "A Year of Flowers" and this sentiment for "Say it With Flowers", I just love how all three of these sets work together! To make this gatefold, score your cards base at 2 1/8" on each end of your 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" CS. Then stamp the frame two times and cut one in half(you'll use the LEFT side of this one), then cut other down the middle and around the left side of sentiment card (you'll be using the RIGHT half of this one). When you mat and adhere these to each side they will line up! Then color as desired. 
It's fun to put any two of her images from this set together with this greeting whenever a friend needs a quick dose of sweet! In this sample, I used Baic Grey Cupcake DpP to match the sprinkles on one donut, stamped with the phone from Rupa's "Thinking of You" set in Vivid Coffee Bean, which I also sponged aroudn the edges. Scalloped border done with the Threading Water Punch. I also used Gina K Pure Luxury Chocolate Kiss, Rocket Red and White, and colored my images with Copics.
