Inspiration Hop, Day 2: "Whimsical Wishes" and "Garden Fresh"
Welcome back, to day 2 of our Inspiration Hop! First up, we have Theresa Momber's "Whimsical Wishes". Along with some beautiful images a greetings, it has some really cool negative nature silhouettes in circles that are great for punching and for making patterns. I used all three silhouettes and Stormy Sky, Wild Honey, Mustard Seed and Peeled Paint Distressing Inks to stamp the background on Pure Luxury White. That gorgeous card base is the new Blue Raspberry Pure Luxury and it is THE most beautiful blue evah! (At first when I pulled it out of the box I thought it was really similar to Turquoise Sea..until I got out my Turquoise Sea CS that is!! This is so much deeper, you are going to love!) I ran my Bahama Blue Memento marker round the edge of the circles inked in the Stormy Sky because I thought that would be a better match (pad is now in my shopping cart!) and then also went over the little details of the cut out dragonflies wings and made a shadow for the greeting with the fine tip after stamping. I also traced the popped up dragonflies with some Blue Star Sakura Glitter pen for a little sparkle. Great set Theresa, it has serious style!
Next up, we have Gina's "Garden Fresh", are these little fruits and veggies cute!! Love the sweet, funky style incorporating both bold and line art and the stitched lines on each, what a fun detail! I really like ALL the images in this set, they are completely different from any stamps I have and will be so versatile, but wanted to try something little different and thought it would fun to make smiley face from with the wedge of watermelon and some buttons! I inked up the outside of the melon with Pear Tart and Bamboo Leaves Memento markers and black for the seeds and inside and stamped. I colored the inside of the melon with Copics and then sponged Brick ink onto the Pure Luxury Just Peachy mat to make it a little juicier"' and added a layer of Fresh Asparugus I trimmed with scalloped scissors to mimic the rind.
Base is Key Lime and ribbons are Pure Luxury Stitched and gingham. I pierced some holes in each of the scallops and added black brads to make some seeds... :) (Hope YOU like this card, my son William, not so much! He came in when I was making this melon card and said “Can’t you do better than that?” “What?” I asked, “ you don’t like it? I’m not done yet…”. “Well”, he said “I just think you can do better… like this one” holding up the "Birthday Bash" bunny card I made for last month’s inspiration hop…LOL! Hmmph! ;)
Thanks for visiting today, enjoy hopping (and shopping!)
