Typhoon Texas! (and BOGO for Dads this Weekend)
Good morning! Just a heads up, William and I were thrilled and delighted to preview the new Typhoon Texas the week before school let out to see all the awesome additions to the water park in Pflugerville, so I wanted to tell you a little about it! This is the first time we've been to the location in the evening and it was so relaxing, with the live music playing at the band stand and cooler temps. We checked out all the slides and lazy river we enjoyed from previous summers, but the main attraction (for us, anyway) was really the enormous multilevel water playscape, with kids and families in mind, but my tween and his buddy and I had a blast running up and down this thing, and getting wet, wet, wet!
Seriously, in addition to the huge constantly filling and dumping bucket that will rain a deluge on everyone in the vicinity approximately every 5 minutes (check my perfectly timed pic above just before the water hits!), there are sprayers, soakers, guns and pouring curtains of water at every turn, so staying cool is no problem! What makes this playscape extra exciting is there are 6 or 7 different slides branching off the different levels, so if you want to play tag or hide and seek like us there are multiple quick exit and escape routes, with no waiting in line! Obviously, it's way better to slide down than use the stairs if you can! There are also cargo nets, bridges and towers which give you lots of safe but fun challenges and hidey holes if you are playing a game. It's also in the center of the park, so easy to find, or find stray family members! The lazy river goes right by so you can check in on the littles! Here is William giving me a wave!
We also really enjoyed all the Texas names and theming! Check out this new adventure if you are in or planning to visit the Austin area!
Plus, here’s a Father’s Day gift dad won’t
soon forget if you are looking for a way to enjoy some family time– free admission to Typhoon Texas Austin all Father’s Day
weekend. Simply purchase a regularly-priced, above-48-inch,
single-day ticket at the Typhoon Texas ticket window, and dad can enter for
free June 17-18. Typhoon Texas Austin is open until 10
p.m. both days to ensure dads and their families have plenty of time to enjoy
the park’s high-speed raft rides and tube slides, free-fall body slides,
four-story children’s Gully Washer with 800-gallon water bucket and more than
100 spray areas, Texas-sized wavepool, winding lazy river, family adventure
trail and challenge course, and more.
Single-day passes Father’s Day weekend are $34.99. Children
under 48 inches tall, seniors 55 and older, and military personnel (with
military ID) are $24.99. After 5 p.m., tickets are always $19.99. Children 2
and younger are free.

Ready for some inspiration? This first card I made with the Dazzling Dahlias stamps. I stamped them all in Red Velvet and Grass Green and then the outlines in Black Onyx.
I chose to cut out just the largest flower using one of the dies and then popping it up offset on some adhesive foam on a Red Velvet mat. White Pure Luxury card base is stamped with one of the flourishes in GKD Black Onyx. I just had try this out in red to start, but it would look gorgeous in the Passionate Pink in the kit! ;)
This next card I made with the Sentimental Summer set. I stamped the bike and sun first in Black Onyx and colored everything in with Spectrum Noir markers. I masked in the cloudy sky (scalloped sticky note I cut) with Ocean Mist and the ground (masked with a straight edge) with Moonlit Fog.
Next, I cut out the sun and bike with the matching dies, and them popped them up on foam, offsetting the sun by one ray to have them radiating. Card base is Pure Luxury Wild Dandelion. I also added some Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops to the wheel axles or some nice dimension and shine.
Love both of these sets and this kit! :)
