A Question, and an Observation

Hi!! Okay, so I have lots of things I need to post but not quite ready, but I still want to do a little talking though in the meantime and get your feedback, then give you some of MY feedback! ;) So let's go!!

First, the question: which Stately Flowers set so far is your favorite? See sets below to remind yourself what's in each, and please let me know in the comment section! I also started a pin board of my cards using all these Stately flowers sets in the series on Pinterest if that helps you decide! :) Either way, a great place to look for ideas and inspiration and ideas when using any of these sets!

Next, my first Clearly Gina K set just arrived (Stately Flowers 4), yay!!! (I had the rubber version for making samples pre-release before the photopolymer version shipped)

And while there are LOTS of things I am going to love about these many of which you've probably already been told about or know from experience, one thing I observed, now that I actually have them in hand and I'm super excited about is this:

The clear stamps on the sheet are a mere 1/8" thick. The rubber sets, with the added cling foam, are just over a 1/4" thick. The binder boxes Gina carries fit four regular size rubber sets, either front and back on two pages or front only on four storage boards. However, the binders will hold about EIGHT sets of clear stamps, woo hoo! SO I can fit *twice* as many stamps for the price of *one* binder, and in *half* the amount of shelf space, a mere 1 1/4" inches of binder versus 2 1/2"! This makes a huge difference over time! Just had to come share, one more great advantage I think of purchasing clear stamps!!

Have a terrific day! I am trying to get all my tutorials ready for you (plus just finished cranking out some new stamps sets for the coming month! Eeek!! Some of my faves to date!)

I look forward to hearing from you, thanks for visiting and taking them time to comment today!

  1. Hi Melanie! My favorite Stately Flowers set is your most recent one, but that's because I'm biased. My state's beautiful Rhododendron is included in that set, so for now it's my favorite.

  2. My personal favorite - so far - is Stately flowers #1. Mostly because I'm a California girl at heart (even though I was raised in Chicago and currently live in Michigan) LOL

  3. It's hard not to be prejudiced and say how I love the Texas stamps -- since I'm a Texas Gal, but the Stately Flowers 2 stamp set is a favorite.(so far) I'm excited about seeing them in person and getting to play.

  4. I don't own any yet and have admired all of them enviously, but I am perhaps holding out for a set with a flower from my home state, South Dakota. I would get them, but the one type of stamp I have in over abundance is flowers. I need to concentrate on other images so that I can be more diverse in my card making. It isn't because I don't love all of them, but I have to watch my budget. But I do love that poppy image from California and am always hoping I will get it in a grab bag if I ever win again. LOL Thanks for asking too.

  6. I love your Stately Flowers #1, the Texas Bluebells to be exact! Well until along comes some Massachusetts Mayflowers I suppose! :)

  7. Hi Melanie!! So far the first one has been my favorite, I think because I am a CA girl and love the poppy. Having said that I think Stately Flowers 4 will be my new favorite (I am still waiting on it to get here). I love rhododendrons and the grow so well here. I have several of them. In my front yard I have a gorgeous fire red one that is huge. I love when it is all bloomed out. Great tip on the clear, I have so many GKD sets and they take up a huge amount of space.

  9. Since I'm in Canada and won't use a lot of the place names and things I'm mostly basing my answer on the flowers I like and I like Stately Flowers 2 the most with Stately Flowers 4 as a VERY close 2nd. :)

  12. My favorite is #2, followed very closely by #4! If I were lucky enough to win the lottery, I would certainly have every set, and all of the basket sets too! Each month, it's so exciting to see all of the new releases! I love the fact that the clear stamps take up less room, and that you can see through them! Thanks for asking :) Hugs...

  13. Hi Melanie,

I love your work! My favorite state flower set is #4 with a "slight" bias because the hibiscus is the flower of my lovely state and you've done a superb job with it.

A suggestion for future projects: a stamp set with an assortment baskets only.

  14. While I truly love them all--and covet them way too much--the first is still my favorite. I just love the poppy. It's such a simple but dramatic flower.

  15. All of them are so pretty but I think I like 4 the best because of the carnation; it's my favorite flower.

  16. I guess I will have to re-think rubber versus clear!!!! Thanks for your input Melanie!

  17. Hi Mel
Now thats not a fair question, I love them all but 1 & 4 have very British flowers as the poppy I colour red at the end of the summer, we have fields with millions of red poppies around the edge, what you call the blue bonnet is known as a lupin here and is a popular garden flower as is the carnation, the rhododendron is a symbol of the New Forest where I used to live and my parents still do. I am collecting all your sets and even have the binder boxes already labeled up for 5, 6 & 7

  18. My favorite of the Stately Flowers is Set 4 which includes Hawaii. I like the variety of flowers. All are quite different from one another. I think the sentiments are very good, with the ability to use for several different occasions and I just love the addition of the butterflies! I have your book and both sets of accompanying stamps. Needless to say it's the set of stamps I use the most. Your creativity is amazing!

  21. I would have to say #2 since that is the only set I have - thanks to your generous blog candy when it was released. I do like set 4 with the hibiscus and carnation, and I like the idea that they are now available in clear, and the clear takes up less space. I'm looking forward to the rest of the sets in the series and your other designs.

  26. This is very hard, Melanie. For all over variety of use , I think no. 2.Sun flowers are always useful and the Camilla can be used lots of ways too. So glad you include sentiments with each addition too. Thanks for your creativity.
