Honey, honey

Here is the bee card I have "bee"n waiting to make! :) I used Pure Luxury Sweet Corn for my background and Black Onyx to make it pop with the little bee.

The sentiment from "A Beautiful Life" fits perfectly into one of Nina's "Lovely Labels". I die cut it and then traced the die on Black Onyx to make a lager mat. After randomly stamping a pattern of bees in Versamark to create a background paper, I colored my stamped bee with Cadmium Yellow and Honey Copics and then popped it up, adding a little trail of these "Say it in Crystals" flourish behind. I am in love with these crystal flourishes (from Hobby Lobby)! They are a little pricey, but when you consider how you can divide a large flourish into many smaller parts and how much it adds to the card, it is a great value! :)
Here you can see the closeup. I finished the card with some stitched ribbon and then had to use a (gasp!) confetti base because I am down to only scraps of Pure Luxury White! (the horror! how did I let this happen?!) Please excuse me while I go place an order for more of this staple card stock (plus some more binders, maybe a new set of dies, the new Basic Grey DP etc) :)

  4. This is beautiful, Melanie! Love the yellow and black combo! Love how you used the label and the bees in the background, too! Very striking! I think there are a lot of us in the same boat with the PL white. I only have a few scraps left!
