Sweet Seeds and Stitches

Here is another card I made for our release party, using Gina's new "Seeds of Kindness" set. This was on of the first images I stamped from the set and enjoyed carefully coloring this and some some others from our new sets with my Copics while watching TV! Normally I choose my DP first to pick the colors I want to use on my image, but this time I didn't. (Fortunately the many springy colors in this Basic Grey Lemonade DP I had were perfect and the print gave it some sweet country appeal. The cornflower blue pots were inspired by some I bought the other day four our patio, I hesitated at first spending four dollars a pot (x4!) on these glazed ones instead of the usual buck a piece terra cotta, but I am so glad I did, they look so cheerful on our deck! :)

Now you wouldn't know it, but before I had time to crop this image for my card, I managed to drop an inked stamp on the left side and got half of a different image on and around the coloring I'd labored over! Wahhh! There was no die that could possibly crop it all out, although this one came close. It looked like the only way to save it would be too cut it all out, which, I did NOT want to do. Instead, I chose this Labels Eight Die that was just slightly bigger than the image, sponged ink around it to hide the lighter bits of the boo boo, and then adhered this button over the edge and hiding worst part...and I actually like the way that button looks there, even going over the image for no good reason at all! Yay! Crisis averted! A truly "Make it work!" moment!
So a good lesson to be learned there, don't give up! (oh, maybe another lesson to is to clean your stamps and those stray images in your binders and away from your curent project! hmmm!)

I added a stitched border from Tami's "In Stitches" to the DP, stamped in Vivid Coffee Bean. Card stock is Little Boy Blue and Chocolate Brown , I also used what I call the storybook die (Labels Seven) to mat under my image and a bit of stitched ribbon, pleating it to create a little tab for my button.

Tomorrow night, first week with my guest designer for "Fun Year Round"...Sharri Seffens! Can't wait to share her Q&A and project with the set! :)
