State, here we come!

Thank you all SO much for praying for Jonathan, he swam his heart out yesterday and got two personal bests in his 25 yd and 50 yd freestyle, placing 2nd in the city in both these events, qualifying for the state meet in WACO in a couple weeks! :) Here he is with his coach Marjory receiving his ribbons afterwards at their end of season party.

Wow, what a great morning it was, I felt like I was watching him in the Olympics! The UT Swim Center is gorgeous (comfortable, air conditioned!! LOL!)and I am told one of the "fastest" pools in the country. How wonderful it would be to watch eery meet here instead of at the no shade, no seating, no scoreboard city pools, sigh! (although if they were all that nice this event wouldn't have felt as special.) This photo shows him with his team, he's in the light blue shirt and black Speedo shorts below the record board facing the pool. (If you zoom in you might be able to read three of Michael Phelps records in this pool up on the board for 100 fly, 200 IM and 400 IM.)

Anyway, he was the only child from his team to qualify, so the next couple weeks he will be training with two new coaches and all the qualifiers from other teams going to represent Austin. I will keep you posted with how it goes! Hope you are having a terrific weekend!
