FYI The Target Dollar Spot has a terrific fall paper pack that goes GREAT with the leaves and apples Cammie's set, check it out! (Don't have a Dollar Spot? Just leave a comment on this post and I will randomly choose one person to send some of it to in 6x6 size to complement your cards, winner posted Thursday :) I used two of the papers on this card to make my background. If you follow my blog, you know I don't normally take the time to dot a whole card base border with a white gel pen, but I couldn't really NOT with the dots in that DP, could I?? and Carolyn's worth it...(BTW the dots on the DP are embossed, too pretty cool)
Several of the colors in this pack are actually a perfect match for some old In Colors (but blend nicely with others if you don't have them) I used my Cranberry Crisp CS for the Base, as well as the ink with my Aquapainter for the apples and stitched ribbon (I intended to make more than one apple green but eek, I realized too late there was only one left without Cranberry on it, hope it looks like a "special apple", and not the bad apple of the bunch LOL!) The basket is a mix of Not Quite Navy and Buckaroo Blue. True Thyme ink is sponged onto my focal point, I left my die in place while sponging to reveal the white rim after I finished. The Scalloped top and bottom was created with the Threading Water Punch.
SO is your calendar marked for the 21st?? Don't forget to leave a comment to win a little grab pack o' this paper :)
You are so funny---woohoo..doin a happy dance--I am worth dots!!!!

There are NO TARGETS (yes, that's right NONE!) on this island! There is one being built and scheduled for a grand opening in March, but I will be living in Italy by then. Oh, and there are NO TARGETS in Italy either! UGH! So, please pick me, I need my Target fix! lol! (but I will be trying my hardest to hit a couple Targets and Michael's [no Michael's here either] on my way to Italy when we go visit family for Thanksgiving!) Oh, and Cammie's Heart to Heart is wonderful! I will have to spread the word on my blog too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute card! I like that only one apple is green. It looks like you planned it that way. :) I just ordered the threading water punch from Gina K and I LOVE IT!!
ReplyDeleteI would appreciate being added to your drawing for the $1 paper. I do have a Target but seldom get out. (I have a terminally ill child and don't get out of the house much).
ps
I just saw that Angie doesn't have access to a Target at all. Pick her! LOL! I can't imagine not ever having access to a Target or Michaels! ;)
I really like how you used your ribbon in this one and the dots on the leaves.
ReplyDeleteI also so a froggie card just pop by in your slide show. That was cute!!

ReplyDeleteSo cute - and wow those papers are terrific with this set! Definitely looking forward to the 21st... :-)
ReplyDeleteI live in the "outback" it seems. The nearest Target is just over 2 miles away. With gas prices these days--I sure don't get out much. What a wonderful card--TFS. darlene
ReplyDeleteAwesome card Melanie. You are right. The paper you found is a perfect compliment to her set. That image of the apples in the basket is my favorite. I wish I had some time to play. Too much going on. Hopefully Friday night will be quiet and I can play.
ReplyDeleteI need to go to Target tonight, so I will definately check out the Dollar Spot (always do).
I am planning to join the rest of the world on the 21st at Cammie's blog. She is such a sweetie.
Oooo! That paper is great! Please enter me for a chance to win! My Mom had surgery recently and is going in for more soon, so no chance I will get to Target any time soon...
ReplyDeleteGreat card----we're in the first weeks of apple harvest here---until about the second week of November before we finish all the varieties! Super card, super cause! Was just at Target this morning---no paper! I always check there even if I don't need anything else in the store--but nothing but Disney and Star Wars items for the kids this time. Would love to have some of this paper--thanks for the opportunity to win some!
ReplyDeleteGail S.
Wow Melanie I love the colours of the DP! and if anyone would think to emboss the dots, it'd be you! Wonderful card and I'd love some of the DP, we don't have a target here. I must have been under a rock lately...I'll have to hop over to Carolyn's & see whats happenin'! TFS
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know that I've been enjoying reading your daily post and learning along with each new project you feature. We don't have Target or Michael's or Roberts or any large stamp/scrapbook stores on our islands or even any dollar spot - whatever that is - or even any dollar stores. We have to rely on Ben Franklin or some of the smaller shops or basically on-line buying. Guess this is Paradise without all the important stores. But I'm surviving with my supply of stamping paraphrenalia and appreciate all that I have. Should you by some miracle pull my name, please let it go to someone who may need it more. Aloha. yum
ReplyDeleteWe have a target, but the dollar section is rather sad. Beautiful card! I finally just received your t-shirt set and am hoping for chance to get to it soon.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great card. I love the paper, I need to put it on my ever growing list of things I need. TFS
ReplyDeleteThis is soooo prefect!! I LOVE that paper!!! Okay, so the drawback of living in a small mountain town? Can't get to town often enough for the great deals at the Dollar Spot!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteCute card! I would LOVE to win some of this great Fall paper. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeletelovey the background paper and your card is too darling!
ReplyDeleteNo Target close to home. Nearest one is more than an hour away and with gas prices I'm not going to often. Love the papaer though and have a similar stamp.

The card is awesome! That paper is so vibrant. I'm in Canada and we don't have Target's here. Everytime I see a blog entry talk about Target, I admit I get a little jealous. I do go and ogle their website on a regular basis though.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day, Tisha
Awesome card.
