The images in
Rupa's new "So Grateful" set have me yearning for some fall weather after this hot summer, along with all the wonderful textures and baking smells it brings with it! A gorgeous set for a worthy cause: from
September 5
th through Thanksgiving, Gina K will be
donating a portion from each set sold to "Feed the Children"! This little acorn and leaf is one of my favorite stamps in the set, it makes the perfect, dainty accent for a fall "Thank you".
I really liked the pattern in the little acorn top, so I used my
Scor-Pal to make some diagonal lines each way in a
criss-cross pattern on my More Mustard CS. I stamped
SU!'s Sanded background over it with Silver Encore Ink to bring out that beautiful gray in the Basic Grey
Ambrosia DP mat.
Although it was not my intent when I began this card, I used all
three of the new punches I just bought from Gina K! The
Threading Water Punch across the bottom (this lines up like a dream when you're punching, so cool!!), four
Large Flourish punches (from
DCWV Earth Elements Textured CS) glued on to make a swirly border (this acorn image actually has some terrific little
curlicues on it's
topper but I had to cut them off for my accent, they were so delicate) and one of the
Rounded Corners at the bottom (attached with a brad). My acorn is colored with
Koh-i-Noor and OMS, the buttery texture of these pencils was
perfect for the nut. After cutting out, I curved it under with my fingers to make it look more 3D before mounting it on a dimensional.
Additional supplies: SU! Basic Gray CS, Ribbon, hodge podge frame, brads
