I need help. I find no matter what I'm doing each day, I always manage to let my mind drift and start composing my next post. This past Saturday, my DH sent me to the mini mart to grab some bread to go with dinner (mmm, pot roast). I'd already been to the store twice that day for other things, but forgot the bread both times! The grocery store would be too crowded now, so I drove to the little one up the street, without the kids this time since DH was home (what a nice little break, an errand with no yelling, no Wiggles...) As I drove, I chuckled to myself over something I planned to write to you about the next day, and then realized I'd gone several blocks past the store!! Oops! I swung my car around and reminded myself I need to pay more attention to my driving! So down the road I go ...what will I offer for my next blog candy?...and the next thing I know I am inserting the key into my front door! DOH! I've driven all the way back to my house, forgetting not only the bread, but to stop at the Mini Mart! (Good thing pot roast can just simmer!) I did manage to finally get some bread, but I think only because I kept repeating, "Focus, focus! FOCUS!" to myself.
Help!! I think I may need a trip to the spa and a little break from my 'puter...
Any other blogaholics out there?? Oh! all of you? well, that's good! I feel better now ;)
PS Carie wrote to me today: "Thanks for your blog, it cheers me up!" This makes it all worth it. HUGS, I'm glad I can do that for somebody! I appreciate ALL your kind words and comments like these, even if I don't write back(I'm sorry, I can't even find time to get a shower lately!) it really keeps me going :)
PPS check out Pamela's bag!!! and Linsey's bag!! They each whipped one out the same day I posted the tutorial, and I like their's even better! Thanks, Pam and Linsey, I'm glad all the pics weren't too intimidating to give it a go!! You rock!! did anybody else make a bag??
Check back tomorrow for more projects and another munchy!
I think there are two kinds of blogaholics. Those you write and those you read. I fall in the last category. I spend so much time reading blogs some days that I don't get much creating done. I find them inspiring, entertaining, and just lots of fun! Darlene
ReplyDeleteShoot.... you referenced 2 more blogs that I amazingly didn't have in my google reader so I immediately added them and will now go back and read them both! Yeah, I spend hours and hours oohing and aaaahing at everyone's blogs. Some day I'll get off here long enough to make a card and put it on a blog myself.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a blogaholic. Your blog is inspiring and I do enjoy it.
ha! I resemble that remark! too funny! your excitement is infectious and I LOVE that about you!
ReplyDeleteYou are one VERY TALENTED lady there Mel & I luv visiting your blog daily!
ReplyDeleteI'm glued to my seat at the computer for hours blog surfing & don't even want to stop to take the time to pee until my bladder is full, now thats really bad! I have a lot to do & need to get off my butt & get to work on stuff for my daughter's wedding! Your are too funny but I can relate!!!
LOL..........oh yeah........run errands and get caught up with ANY stamping related ideas!! That's me!! I'm waiting for the template to make the bag 'cuz I don't have a coluzzle and I seriously cannot cut a circle neatly freehand!! (I HAVE tried this!! LOL) And your blog is so fun and upbeat and educational (hey! I could count homeschooling time with the art and math requirements!!! LOL)!
ReplyDeleteBlogaholicism, (is that word??)its a good thing! LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone girlfriend. I am right there with ya!
ROTFL!!! You are so funny! You crank out awesome tote-orials, amazing cards, the MOST FAbulous designed stamps, raise a family (and so much more I know I'm leaving out)--yet you can't remember the bread you're driving to the store for! LOL! Well, you always get the really important things done, right! :) You rock, Melanie and I think a day at the spa is well deserved and probably long overdue! Oh, Mother's Day is coming up--hint around for it, I'm sure your DH will catch on! Thanks for mentioning my Melanie tote, although I think I did something wrong. It's shorter than yours and Pamela's (whose is totally awesome). Anyway, I'm going to do more, so I'm sure I'll figure out whatever I did. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one -- whenever something happens I immediately start composing a mental blog post about it. Sometimes I have time to actually post, but my actual posts represent a small fraction of the ones in my head. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the story about going to the store!
Oh my gosh, that is hilarious!!! Thanks for making me laugh out loud at this post. :-) And I can certainly relate!!
ReplyDeleteYou're funny...I have been there but, unfortunately, I now wake up thinking about all my work projects!
ReplyDeleteI haven't made a bag yet but I do relate to your story about the bread/store/roast!! I'm glad you're a blogaholic too.
ReplyDeleteAm off to read how to make a bag now and will try using a compass with a craft knife rather than a coluzzle as I don't have one either :-) Have a wonderful day!
Okay.. I have to confess.. I´m a Blogaholic too (the reading kind).. and I love it :-) Keep up the good work!

Your story about the bread runs is too funny! LOL This is how hectic life is for most of us, but what's more important anyway? bread or creative energy? You already had pot roast to eat, so bread was just an incidental:) Art is a must for people like you who are creative enough to put your ideas into motion and fantastic products. I'm glad you do find time in your busy life to blog because I'm here reading every day. I guess that makes me a blogaholic too. I don't write one of my own and probably won't because I spend too much time visiting and enjoying everyone elses! LOL
ReplyDeleteI think I used to be the kind of blogaholic that read others blogs and rarely had time to make cards myself, but recently I'm feeling the tug to post almost daily! Egads! That's a lot of talking, but being a SAHM I guess I have a lot of words!! But looking at that counter and how many "hits" my blog received each day is almost a "hit" in and of itself! Yes, addiction is a good word for it.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the TOTE-orial. Linsey and Pamela's versions look great too. I'd love to try it, but I don't have the Coluzzle circle template. I was inspired to break out the new-to-me Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More Cricut cartridge to try a bag. Would that be cheating?
ReplyDeleteThat was funny. I don't have a crafting blog just my family blog.... and I am not good at keeping it up to date. I read way more than I create! Thank you for my daily dose of entertainment and inspiration!
ReplyDeleteMelanie - SO SO FUNNY!!! And I would only laugh at something like that if it was something I would do too!!!
ReplyDeleteOh - a spa sounds WONDERFUL!!! We need an all mom/crafter spa getaway!!!
Too funny I've done the same thing!!LOL:)
ReplyDeleteLaura
Now this post really made me LOL, Thanks so much!!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteYep I am a blogaholic also, big time (I have 3 blogs...*blushes*, and I don't want to count how many I read *sigh*)... and I also tend to be a little absentminded sometimes... LOL
I'm a blogaholic as well - I love reading the blogs. They are very inspirational and entertaining as well
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny! I hope you finally enjoyed dinner WITH the bread! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm a blog reading addict! I've been traveling so much I haven't had time home to create but my laptop goes everywhere so I can keep up with my favorite blogs:)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you -- I also am a blogaholic, but that's a reading one. Every day I find myself subscribing to another 1-2 blogs! There are so many creative people out there! I spend 1/2 my day just reading my email! That's stamping/crafting related email only! Jeanne
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to this. There are so many of you talented people out there that I can spend a lot of time just sitting in amazement. Thanks for sharing.
