Forgive me for being so forgetful about this very important post, and thank you Wendi for the HEADS UP(he hee!) Glad I'm not too late! Wendi and her son Jeremy are giving out something much bigger than blog candy over at her blog: her nephew is shaving his HEAD to raise money for St Baldrick's and "Shaving his way to Conquer Children's Cancer", please read the post ASAP! Wendi says all donations amounts are confidential and every donation counts. Actually Gina K's new illustrator Rupa has a quote from Helen Keller on her blog which I love and am thinking of now: I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do what I can.- Helen Keller (Don't you just love Helen?!)
You have until Sunday 9 CST 3/09 (tomorrow!) to enter, just make a donation and leave a comment on her blog you did so.
And NOW for the CANDY to make donating a little more fun! Check out the biggies** below who have gotten involved in this awesome giveaway: you KNOW there's gonna be some good prizes!!!
Belinda from Clear Artistic Stamps, Liz and Richard from Cornish Heritage Farms,Carolyn King,Christine from All that Scraps,Melanie Muenchinger, Diana from Scor-Pal, Kristi from Hanna Stamps, Emily from Stamping Bella, Gina K from Gina K Designs, Asela Hopkins ,Kim from MFT stamps , and Erika Martin.
I am so glad to be able to get involved in this, because I read an article in "People" several years ago that made me cry I was so touched, i'll never forget it: it was about a 12 year-old boy who lost his hair from chemo. He was afraid everyone at school would make fun of him, but you know what happened instead? (I'm about to cry again just thinking about it!) Every boy in his class and his teacher shaved their own heads! You should have seen the pic with their arms all linked around each other, they were this big club of baldies, it was so great! (and ya know, they all looked GOOD, because every one them had a smile on their face and love and hope in their eyes. :) Just an incredible story about the human spirit(and I wanna hear in the news more oftenabout how GOOD we can be, not how bad, don't you??) Anyway, thank you again Wendi and Jeremy, I think you are both terrific for doing this, God bless you! I plan to do something on my own blog soon to raise money and awareness for causes that are personal to me, so thank you, too, for inspiring me.
EDITED TO ADD: Please leave a comment in this post letting me know if you donated for an extra entry in my blog candy! Can't donate? It's okay! You can still do something: spread the word!!! LINK this post on your blog (comment "LINKING") for another entry for my blog candy! THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!
